By exploring the relationship between nature and being, MAJULAH aims to narrate the progressive Singaporean women of today by telling the story of three women negotiating their self identity that intersects with race, culture and religion.

As the leitmotif of the publication, the lotus pond symbolises purity, beauty and growth as the lotus rises unsullied from the mud. From the fact that at the same time seed pods, open flowers and buds are found, it denotes the three states of existence, Past, Present and Future.
